FAQs
Should I harden the BeCu gaskets?
BeCu gaskets are supplied in a non-hardened state and can be used like that for low to moderate pressure. If you need to go to high pressure, they can be hardened following the recipe below. Note that the hardening needs to take place after pre-indentation and drilling.
- Hardening to happen in vacuum;
- Increase T to 320 °C at 5 °C / min rate;
- Hold 3 hours (still under vacuum);
- Cool down slowly under vacuum.
